Once again we some very good news!  The Santa Fe Photographic Workshops is recruiting for a photo trip to Granada from February 15 to 22, 2014.  This is a special opportunity for EI because the Santa Fe Workshops have been one of the USA’s leading photography programs for the last twenty years. They have an extensive program in Cuba which attracts close to 300 students a year. Many of those students are now looking to other photography opportunities in Latin American and Nicaragua is a natural. So if this workshop is a success, it could lead to many more!  In addition, the SF Workshops have pledged part of their profits to EI and will be working with our photography students, which means double opportunity for EI!

Carlan Tapp, has been to Nicaragua on a past visit and we found him to be an extremely knowledgeable photographer as well as incredibly sensitive to the local culture. Carlan has taught dozens of courses and once worked for Ansel Adams! Morgan Smith, a long-term supporter of EI, will be assisting him, has brought six delegations to Nicaragua whose principal goal was to assist Empowerment International.  Susan Boe, the other assistant has helped Morgan with most of these delegations over the years has been the key person in terms of recruitment. Both are also fantastic photographers.  In short, this is a unique opportunity both for EI and for those who choose to participate. Sign up soon because there is little time left!
